Steve Jobs pitching Ipad on Dragons' Den ? by BBC

First, let me say, it's not real. I find it funny because Jobs are much richer than the Dragons. It's like the rich daddy asks for a few coins from poor kids on street. Also, the video is made by BBC. They certainly have a good sense of humour too or they may be upset for the fact that Ipad sold for much higher price (30% higher) than it's in US.

a small lesson on negotiation

I bought some licences from a programmer to distribute his software ,but the day after I bought it. The software server went down. I contacted him and he said it will be fixed in 1-2 weeks. It's a very normal thing to happen in the phone unlock software industry.

Sales tips from a sales director

Today, I got a customer who is the Sales Director of a very big printing company. I see "sales" as a very crucial part of business just like the strikers in a football team that bring you the victory. While he was waiting for his phone to get a software upgrade in my shop. I asked him some questions about sales  and he gave me some useful tips on his sales success.

Pay for a lesson on bad loan

Through out this few years in business, I learn not to judge a person as good /bad at the beginning because normally, they need you and they want your trust. Then after some times, they become more like your friends and you take off your security guard & give credits up front on your sales. It's when the things went wrong.

Recently, I got a couple of invoice I couldn't get the money back because

1) customer closed the business and had no money to pay back

2) customer changed to another supplier, so he doesn't need me.

Be true to seller / supplier and they can be really helpful

Today, I talked to a supplier about the price of a phone software. The software is very good and price is very attractive, but I was told I need to buy a 1000 in order to qualify as their reseller. He is normally quite tough and doesn't change his offer / term. Today, I got a lucky or something.

Cold calls from a customer point of view

These 2 weeks, I received a few cold calls from different companys: Three from a newspaper & internet marketing company & one from a mobile phone company. Though I didn't buy anything from anyone of them, I had a mixed feelings on how they approach customer.

Is china better without google ?

I think one of the top news recently is google considers to close their office in china because of some "organised" hacking attacks which they deemed to be related to chinese goverment. No one knows if it's true or if it's just a "dance" for business purpose ? but it certainly not fun to both google and china if it happens. China seems to stand strong on this. Anyway, the hottest businesses in china are more about "property" or "stock market" or "export stuffs".

Does SEO really for everyone ?

I met my osteopath, mark, in a business event organised by business link last year as he is setting up a  business to deliver his osteopath service in client's home. It's good for the elder or those can't go out (like busy mum etc), on the other hand, Mark doesn't need to rent a expensive office to operate this business.

I was very impressed with his knowledge in osteopath and his sense of humor. More importantly, I have a bad neck and shoulder pain due to the long working hours with computer.
