Things to consider when you choose a web hosting company

Recently, I help a charity to find a web hosting company for the new website I designed for them. 

Because it's a charity, I try to look for the cheapest possible hosting package. At the end, my intention for saving some money for them becomes a nightmare,but I learned a lot and decide to write something here. 

If your website runs on drupal, it demands a reasonable hardware resource and technology. Here are several things you must check with your webhosting providers before you commit

Sales tips from a sales director

Today, I got a customer who is the Sales Director of a very big printing company. I see "sales" as a very crucial part of business just like the strikers in a football team that bring you the victory. While he was waiting for his phone to get a software upgrade in my shop. I asked him some questions about sales  and he gave me some useful tips on his sales success.

PR / Marketing tricks learned from a customer

Today, I learned a lot about PR / Marketing knowledge from a customer who works as a writer in a translation company. He used to work in Edinburgh, but he decided to move to london after his girlfriend moved here. You could guess his boss would just let him go and hire a new guy to replace him. But not, he got an offer to work from home which a lot of people would love to. I was very curious why his boss would do that and I learned why after I understood more about his job.

Autotagging - Drupal

Tagging becomes popular these days because it helps user / search engine to understand / search the content they are looking for. We all use tagging everyday. Think about how you use google, you put in a few keywords and the search engine comes up a list of reference contents. You bascially use the tag (keyword) to find the reference content.

If the author of the content uses some tags which are the same as the those keyword you put on google, search engine will give you a higher position.

In drupal, so far I learn 2 ways to do this tagging things

Pay for a lesson on bad loan

Through out this few years in business, I learn not to judge a person as good /bad at the beginning because normally, they need you and they want your trust. Then after some times, they become more like your friends and you take off your security guard & give credits up front on your sales. It's when the things went wrong. 

Recently, I got a couple of invoice I couldn't get the money back because

1) customer closed the business and had no money to pay back

2) customer changed to another supplier, so he doesn't need me.

Joomla Vs Drupal - my post on ukbusinessforum

I used both Joomla and drupal...and actually, I found drupal easier to learn and use than joomla because I love to change the things..

 

with joomla, I found modules are ready to use without much need to change the theme & layout. Good for you if you are not a demanding people, but if u want to change theme / code, u will feel the headaches.
